The Barnesville Hospital Foundation will host its inaugural Trap Shoot and Steel Challenge on Saturday, October 15th at the Bethesda Sportsmans Club. Registration begins at 10 AM, followed by a safety review at 11 AM and the shoot will begin at 11:15 AM. Everyone twenty-one and over is invited to participate regardless of experience. Those eighteen to twenty-one must have parental consent to participate in the Steel Challenge.

The cost to participate is $75 which includes both the Trap Shoot and Steel Challenge, lunch and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Legacy Point 12 gauge. Shot guns and ammunition is provided or you can bring your own shot gun for the trap shoot. The Steel Challenge, which is a speed shooting competition, will supply the 22 hand guns and ammunition. No outside 22 firearms will be allowed on the range. Spectators are welcome and can join us for lunch for a fee of $20.

We were looking for a fun way to bring community members together in support of Barnesville Hospital, said Dr. David Hilliard, Foundation Board Member. A Trap Shoot and the Steel Challenge are not routinely available locally and we thought it might interest area residents. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience.

Awards will be given for the top male, top female and for the top novice for the Trap Shoot and Steel Challenge. The Shooting Sports 4-H Club will assist to coordinate the event.

We want to thank the Bethesda Sportsmans Club for allowing us to use their beautiful facility, said David Phillips, CEO, Barnesville Hospital. And a special thank you to Doug and Elaine Schafer and the Shooting Sports 4-H Club for sharing their time and talents with us to make this event possible.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged as the number of participants will be limited. Area businesses or individuals can also be event sponsors for $100, $500 or $1,000. All proceeds from this event will benefit Barnesville Hospital.
